Terms of Service

Last updated 18 October 2026. These terms take effect when the Gaming AI app becomes publicly available.

← Back to Gaming AI

The short version: use Gaming AI to play games, don't abuse it, and don't expect it to be perfect. The long version is below, and it's written to be read. Two parts deserve your attention before you agree: section 18 limits what we owe you if something goes wrong, and section 20 means most disputes go to arbitration instead of a court, unless you opt out within 30 days.

1. Who we are

Gaming AI is operated by Sentinel Software LLC (“we”, “us”), and covers the website at gamingai.software, the Gaming AI desktop app, and the service the app connects to (together, the “service”). You can reach us at gamingai.support@gmail.com or in our Discord.

By installing the app, creating an account or buying Vigor, you agree to these terms, and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which form part of them. If you don't agree with them, don't use the service. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company or organisation, you're confirming you have authority to bind it.

2. What Gaming AI is

Gaming AI is a service that answers requests sent to it by game mods, and by features built into the Gaming AI app itself, such as the History tab. When a mod or the app asks for a line of dialogue, we route that request through infrastructure we operate to a large language model, and send the reply back. The models themselves are built and hosted by third parties; we select which ones the service uses and may change them at any time. The app is a small program that runs on your computer and passes those requests along. The app itself does not modify your games or your save files.

Most of the mods that work with Gaming AI are made by other people. We don't make, distribute or control them. The exception is Diplomacy AI, a mod for Hearts of Iron IV that we make and distribute ourselves (“our mod”). Like any mod, installing it changes how that game behaves. Where these terms say something about mods in general, the parts about third-party mods don't apply to Diplomacy AI, and section 4 and section 13 say what does.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Bethesda Softworks, Warner Bros. Games, Portkey Games, Paradox Interactive, TaleWorlds Entertainment, or the authors of Mantella, Sonorus, AI Influence or any other mod that isn't ours. Those names are used only to describe what our service is compatible with, and every one of them — along with the names of the games themselves — is the trademark of its respective owner. Nothing on this site is an official product of, or licensed by, any game publisher or any other mod author. Diplomacy AI is an unofficial mod; it is not made, endorsed or supported by Paradox Interactive.

3. Accounts and eligibility

The models we rely on come with their own age rules, and we have to apply whichever is strictest. That means:

We may refuse service, and may suspend or close any account, where we reasonably believe these rules aren't being met.

4. The app, and your licence to use it

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the Gaming AI app on computers you control, for the sole purpose of using the service. That licence ends when your account does.

Diplomacy AI. The same kind of licence covers our mod: you may install it and use it with your own copy of Hearts of Iron IV, for the sole purpose of using the service. Don't re-upload, redistribute, sell or rent it, bundle it into a mod pack or collection, or present it, or anything built from it, as your own work, without our written permission. It talks only to our service; don't modify it to talk to anything else. Updates may be needed to keep it working with the service or with new versions of the game.

We own the app, the website, the service and everything in them, other than third-party material and your own content. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you, and all rights we don't expressly grant are reserved.

5. Vigor

Vigor is prepaid credit for using the service. It is not money, not a cryptocurrency, not a security and not an investment. It has no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, sold, or exchanged for anything other than use of the service. Buying Vigor is buying a licence to use the service, not property.

6. Using Vigor as intended

Vigor buys you one thing: a single person playing games, or using the app's own features such as the History tab, through the Gaming AI app, at the pace a person actually plays. Buying Vigor does not buy you general-purpose model access, an API, or the right to point anything you like at our service. Misuse of Vigor is the fastest way to lose your account, and those bans are permanent.

The following count as misuse of Vigor:

Depending on what we find, we may rate-limit an account, suspend it while we look, or close it permanently. For anything in the list above we will usually go straight to a permanent ban. When an account is closed for misuse, unspent Vigor is forfeited and is not refunded, and we may refuse to serve future accounts created by the same person. We may suspend an account while we investigate, and we aren't liable to you for the loss of access during a suspension that turns out to be justified.

If you think you've been banned by mistake, email us. We'll look at it properly and we'll tell you what we found.

7. The supporter tier

The supporter tier is an optional subscription costing $9.99 per month. It is not required to use Gaming AI, and no part of the core service depends on it.

8. Payment, refunds and chargebacks

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe handles that, under their own terms and privacy policy. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you live, which is added at checkout where required. You confirm you're authorised to use the payment method you give us.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. Vigor that has already been spent can't be refunded, because the cost of generating those replies has already been incurred.

Talk to us before you talk to your bank. If you raise a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us first, we may suspend your account while it's resolved, and where the dispute isn't made in good faith we may close the account permanently and forfeit any remaining Vigor. We'll almost always sort it out faster than your bank will.

9. Acceptable use

Use Gaming AI to play games. Don't use it to:

We can suspend or close an account that does any of these. If we close your account for breaking these rules, unspent Vigor is not refunded. We don't monitor or pre-screen the content of your requests — we can't, because we don't keep it — but the providers we route to apply their own filters, and we act on reports from users and on notices from those providers. Where the law requires us to report unlawful activity, we will.

10. Models, upstream providers, and their rules

We don't build the models. We reach them through third-party model providers and infrastructure partners, and our ability to keep offering Gaming AI depends entirely on staying in good standing with them. Their terms, acceptable use policies and content rules apply to every request that passes through our service — including yours.

If you believe something generated through Gaming AI breaks these rules, or you've seen an account misusing the service, tell us at gamingai.support@gmail.com. We read every report and we act on them.

11. Your prompts, and what the models produce

“Inputs” are what a mod, or the app itself, sends us on your behalf — prompts, character and world context, conversation history. “Outputs” are what comes back.

12. Privacy

What we collect and why is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Using the service means your Inputs are transmitted to third-party model providers outside our systems, and in some cases outside your country. If you're not comfortable with that, don't use the service.

13. Mods and games

The games are never ours, and most of the mods that talk to Gaming AI aren't either: they're made by other people and given away for free. We test the combinations we recommend, but we can't guarantee any third-party mod works, keeps working after an update, or behaves the way its author intended.

Diplomacy AI is ours, and we'll try to keep it working with current versions of Hearts of Iron IV, but it's provided on the same terms as the rest of the service (section 14 and section 17). A game update can break it before we've caught up, and it may not work alongside other mods, particularly ones that change diplomacy or the game's interface. We may change it, or stop supporting it, at any time.

Whichever mod you use, modding your game is something you do at your own risk, and that includes backing up your saves and checking that what you're doing is allowed by the game publisher's own terms.

The same goes for anything else we link to or integrate with. We're not responsible for third-party software, services or content, and linking to something isn't an endorsement of it.

14. The service is new, and sometimes it will break

Gaming AI is provided as-is. We're two people. The service may go down, get slower at busy times, change which models it runs, or drop support for something. We'll tell you in the Discord when we know, and we'll be honest about it, but we don't promise uptime and there's no service-level agreement here.

Anything we label as beta, preview, early access or experimental is exactly that: it may be unstable, may change, and may disappear. We can add, change, suspend or remove features at any time. Where a change materially reduces what you've paid for, your remedy is to stop using the service and ask us about a refund of unspent Vigor.

15. Ending things

You can stop using Gaming AI and delete your account at any time by asking us.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we're required to act on by a model provider or by law, or that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently. We can also wind the service down entirely — and if we ever shut down for good, we'll give reasonable notice and refund unspent Vigor to accounts in good standing, so far as we're solvent and legally able to. That refund does not apply to an account closed for misuse under section 6 or section 9.

When an account ends, your licence to the app ends with it and we may delete your data in line with our Privacy Policy. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 23 survive the end of your account, along with anything else that by its nature should.

16. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on our service infringes your copyright, email gamingai.support@gmail.com with enough detail to identify the work and the material, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're authorised to act. We remove infringing material and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE, THE APP, DIPLOMACY AI AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage.

We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that it will work with any particular game, mod or hardware, that any Output will be accurate, appropriate or suitable for any purpose, or that defects will be fixed. No advice or information you get from us or through the service creates any warranty not expressly stated here.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. If you're a consumer, this doesn't affect statutory rights you have that can't be excluded.

18. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

These limits apply even if a remedy in these terms is found to have failed its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't legally be limited. You and we agree that these limits are a fundamental part of the bargain between us, and that without them the service could not be offered at these prices.

19. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Sentinel Software LLC and its owners, employees and contractors from any claim, liability, damage, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with: your use of the service; your Inputs; your breach of these terms; your breach of any model provider or infrastructure partner terms; your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights; or any dispute between you and a third party. We'll tell you about any such claim, and we may take over its defence at our own expense, in which case you'll cooperate with us.

20. Disputes: talk to us first, then arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes between us are resolved, and it limits your right to go to court or take part in a class action.

Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceeding, email gamingai.support@gmail.com with a description of the problem and what you want. We'll do the same for you. Most things get fixed here. If it isn't resolved within 30 days, either of us can go on to arbitration.

Arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service that isn't resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator. The arbitration will be held in Arizona or, at your choice, by remote hearing or on documents only. The arbitrator decides all issues except that a court decides the enforceability of the class action waiver below. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

Exceptions. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either of us may ask a court for an injunction to stop misuse of intellectual property or unauthorised access to the service.

No class actions. Claims may only be brought individually, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims. You and we both waive any right to a jury trial. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — goes to court, and the rest of this section still applies.

You can opt out. If you don't want to be bound by this arbitration section, email gamingai.support@gmail.com with the subject “Arbitration opt-out” and your account email within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms. Opting out costs you nothing and changes nothing else about your account.

Time limit. To the extent the law allows, any claim relating to the service must be brought within one year of when it arose, or it's permanently barred.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we'll say so in the app and in the Discord before it takes effect, and we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version; if you don't, stop using the service and ask us about a refund of unspent Vigor. Changes we have to make quickly to comply with a model provider's rules or the law may take effect immediately; we'll still tell you. Changes to section 20 don't apply to disputes we already knew about.

22. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods doesn't apply. Subject to section 20, the state and federal courts located in Arizona have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
