Welcome to the future of gaming

Bring the games you've finished back to life, and give new ones far more to say. Talk to anyone about anything, play any role, and they answer in their own words.

An example on a loop: a game's list of dialogue options is crossed out, the player types their own question instead, and the character answers in their own words. It cycles through Skyrim, Fallout 4, Bannerlord and Hearts of Iron IV, and then Napoleon in the app's History tab.

We handle the technical part

Most AI mods leave the AI side to you: accounts, cards, keys and settings files, all before you've said a word. Gaming AI takes care of that. The mod itself almost always needs some configuring too, so the guide for your game covers it step by step, and we keep it up to date when things change.

You only pay while you're talking

Packs start at 99¢ and Vigor never expires. It's only spent on the AI conversation, what you say and what they say back. The game's own dialogue options, loading screens and time away cost nothing.

The best model for each game

The best model for Skyrim isn't the best for Bannerlord. We test them in every game, and each game's guide tells you which one played best, so you're not left guessing.

Gaming AI presents

Diplomacy AI

Every war ends at a table. Take a seat.

New for Hearts of Iron IV. Sit down across from another nation's diplomat and argue it out in your own words: peace treaties, deals and more, with an envoy who refuses, bluffs and counters. Gaming AI built it from the ground up, with the conversation at the centre.

Recognise it? My government would sooner recognise the weather.

An envoy, at the peace talks on the Diplomacy AI page

  • Peace treaties and deals, in your own words
  • Diplomats who refuse, bluff and counter
  • One download, nothing to configure

Launches with the Gaming AI app.

Thirty years of picking from a list

Talking to a game character has meant choosing one of four lines somebody wrote in advance. Hear them once and you've heard everything that character will ever say.

Free mods for games you already own have changed that. Say something nobody scripted and you get a real answer; come back later and they remember. The mod handles the voices and the memory. A language model has to do the talking, and that's the part we run.

Sanctuary settler

You

Rough night?

Settler

Radstorm rolled in at midnight and the generator quit. Four hours fixing it in the dark, with the Brahmin crying the whole time. So yes. Rough night.

Here's what that sounds like

Nobody wrote these lines or recorded them. The guard makes it up as he goes, and remembers what he said.

Whiterun, the morning after the watchtower
  1. You

    Morning.

  2. Whiterun Guard

Morning, Dragonborn. Gods, that still sounds strange out loud. I was on the wall when it came down over the watchtower, half of us thought the world was ending. Then you came back through the gate covered in blood and the whole market just stopped talking at once.

  3. You

It was less heroic than it looked.

  4. Whiterun Guard

Looked heroic enough from up here. Ysolda's been telling it to anyone who'll stand still, and it's grown a second dragon since yesterday. Don't correct her. Best mood this city's been in since the war started.

Three days later, same gate

  1. You

    Still on this post?

  2. Whiterun Guard

Still on this post. They've taken to calling it the lucky one, nothing's come out of the plains since you turned up. I'll take the credit for that if you're not using it.

Nobody wrote a line about the watchtower. The mod tells the model that a dragon died and who killed it; the ash, Ysolda's growing story and the joke about the post are the character deciding how to feel about it. And still remembering, three days later.

We wrote the exchange above to show what Mantella produces.

Trailers and gameplay demos are coming later.

Games you can try this in today

If you own one of these you're most of the way there already. The mods are free, and the games are ones you've probably had installed for years.

The other four mods come from communities who've spent years on the hard parts: hooking into the game's dialogue, the voices, memory that survives a reload. We test each setup before we recommend it. New to all of this? Skyrim with Mantella is the usual first stop, and the app walks you through the rest.

    Install the app

Free. It sits in the background while you play.

  2. 2

    Open Games

It's in the sidebar. Pick your game from the list.

  3. 3

    Pick a mod list

Each one is a set of mods we've tested together.

First card in the list. The full walkthrough, click by click.

The guides are free, need no account, and cover what to do when something goes wrong.

You can find out for a dollar

The app is free. You pay for the conversations you have, and nothing is a subscription.

Packs start at 99¢, small enough to find out whether you like this before you decide anything.

The currency is Vigor. It never expires and is only spent when a character replies, so loading screens and a three-week break cost nothing. 16,000 Vigor lasts days of play.

There's an optional supporter tier at $9.99 a month: 525 Vigor a day plus a few extras. Nothing on this page needs it.

Hi, we're Kyle and Payton.

We built Gaming AI because we wanted these mods to be easy and cheap to play with, and at the time they were neither.

New AI mods land every month now. We want you playing the new one the week it comes out.

It's just the two of us, with no investors. Updates, new mod support and fixes go up on our Discord and YouTube first.

Common questions

If yours isn't here, get in touch.

I've never installed a mod before. Can I still do this?

Yes. Installing a mod is the fiddliest part, and the Gaming AI app walks you through it step by step for every game we support. Our half adds nothing extra to set up.

Do I need my own API key?

No. That's the entire point of the app. You don't need an account with a model provider, a payment method on file with one, or a key pasted into a mod folder.

What do I need to run it?

Windows, and an internet connection. The app itself is light. The models run on our servers, so your game keeps all of its VRAM. Mac and Linux aren't supported at launch.

Does this replace my mods?

No, it powers them. You still install your AI mods the normal way, from Nexus or the Steam Workshop or wherever you got them. Gaming AI is the backend they talk to.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Vigor is tied to your account, so you'll need one to buy it and to spend it. It's an email and a password, and it takes about ten seconds.

Does Vigor expire?

No. It sits on your account until you use it. Buying Vigor doesn't sign you up to anything and there's no monthly minimum, so a pack you buy today is still there after a three-month break from the game.

What happens if I run out of Vigor mid-conversation?

We check to see before you prompt, so this shouldn't happen.

Can I get a refund on Vigor I haven't used?

Yes. Email us within 14 days of buying a pack and we'll refund the unspent balance from it to your original payment method, no reason needed. Vigor you've already spent isn't refundable, because generating those replies has already cost us the money. If something on our end broke — Vigor deducted for a reply that never arrived, a double charge — tell us and we'll fix it however long ago it was. Full detail in the refund policy.

What's the supporter tier?

$9.99 a month, and entirely optional. You get 525 Vigor a day, a badge, a Discord role, early access to new models, 5% off Vigor packs and hands-on mod support — but nothing about Gaming AI works differently without it, and Vigor is still how you pay for what you actually use. Cancel any time. Full details on the supporter page.

Can't I just run the AI on my own PC?

You can, and some people love doing exactly that. It's free once it's set up and nothing leaves your machine. The snag is that a model good enough to hold a character wants the same graphics memory your game is using to draw the world, so you end up trading framerate for conversation. We run ours on our own servers, which is how it stays quick without slowing your game down. If you're already happy tuning a local setup, you don't need us.

Will it work with a mod you don't list?

Often, yes. If the mod can point at a local endpoint, it can usually point at ours. Ask in the Discord and we'll check.

Is it safe for my save file?

Gaming AI doesn't touch your saves or your game files. It runs beside the game and answers requests your mods make. Anything that changes the game world is the mod's doing, exactly as it would be with any other backend.

Is my conversation with an NPC saved anywhere?

No. We don't store them — a request comes in, a reply goes back, and we keep no copy of either. We never train on them and nobody here reads them. The one thing worth knowing is that the text does have to be sent to the model that writes the reply; our privacy policy says exactly what that means, and what we do keep, which is your account and your billing and not much else.

When can I download it?

Very soon. The app is built and we're finishing testing. The download button at the top of this page switches on at launch.
